Rev. Tim WinbornePastor of Worship and Youth
Tim traveled the country leading worship full-time for churches, camps, retreats and conferences. From New Mexico to North Carolina to Florida, Tim’s unconventional style and talents have revealed to thousands his love for God. He has been leading in contemporary worship for over 18 years, long before many churches discovered it.
In 2001, he came off the road and settled here in Jackson where he met and fell in love with Arika, a beautiful and talented young lady. They were married in 2003 and have two boys, Kaed and Tannon. Tim and Arika were privileged to be part of the core group who started CrossRoads.
He would never call himself an expert, but he is in tune with the "cutting edge" of contemporary church life. The first thing you might say to yourself when visiting CrossRoads worship is, "Hey ... the guy on the stage with the guitar ain't got no shoes on!" Then, "But he sure can play that guitar." And then, "And he sure can sing!" And then, "What guy on a stage? All I know is I worshipped God." Tim's gift is leading others to worship with him.
Tim also leads our Junior High and High School Student Ministry (Youth). He feels it necessary to be relevant to today’s culture, which can be a little different at times. It's a good thing to be a little strange in that ministry. He believes that worship, discipleship, missions, and evangelism work together to develop a spiritually mature young person.
Tim knows how to have fun, but a Youth program with Tim Winborne leading is going to be mostly about growing deep with Jesus.
Tim is a dedicated, talented and a great leader. His love for Jesus is evident in the way he leads worship and the way he lives his life. We feel privileged to have him lead us in worship and student ministries.
