PreschoolOur Preschool ministry is more than simply providing childcare for parents who are worshiping or involved in other mininstries. We are also committed to providing age-appropriate ministry and discipleship for these precious kids and their families. Here are 5 ways we do this:
1. Security Our first priority is to insure that your child is safe. We have video cameras in each preschool room, and parents are welcome to observe the great ministry that your child is receiving while in our care. We also have a beeper system for families that are new to CrossRoads or for children with special needs, so we can always get in touch with you if needed. Thorough check-in/check-out procedures are a bit of a pain for you, but it's worth it to insure your child's safety.
2. Health Our next priority is your child's physical well-being. We use stringent health guidelines, created with the help of medical professionals, that help us keep your child's experience with us a healthy one.
3. Spiritual Beginnings Preschoolers are spiritual sponges! They absorb so much from the world around them, and we are serious about helping them to understand the basics of their spiritual world. These foundational ideas about God become vitally important for the rest of their lives, and it is our joy to help you teach them. The teaching is done in age-appropriate ways, including a Puppet Ministry, which is a great way for preschoolers to learn important things about Jesus! If you prefer to keep your preschooler with you, and they get restless during worship, just step out into the foyer where we have provided a live-feed video for you so that you don't have to miss what is going on while you settle your little one down.
4. Family Support Our commitment is not only to the children, but to their parents and siblings as well. The Preschool ministry hosts occasional educational and recreational events for Preschoolers and their families, and we stand ready to assist you if needs arise. One expression of this commitment is our TeenMOPS ministry, which helps Teen Mother's Of Preschoolers with the daunting task of parenting at an early age.
5. Childcare Naturally this ministry also provides quality childcare for you while you worship or participate in various ministries. Childcare is available during both worship services on Sunday mornings, and is also available in many of our Small Groups that meet during the week. If you are new to CrossRoads, we know it is hard to leave your little ones in the care of strangers, and understand if you prefer to keep them with you until you get to know us better. Sometimes children get restless in worship, and we know you don't want to disturb the worship of those around you, so we have provided a live-feed monitor in the foyer so that you can take your child out and let them settle down without losing track of what is going on in the service. The beeper system and the Preschool video camera systems are also provided to help ease your mind about leaving them with us, if you so choose.
Leading this ministry is our Preschool Minister, Janie Cox and Assistant Preschool Ministers Lisa Brown and Kara True.
