Sunday mornings we are using a program called Kid's Connect. Children need worship and Bible study that makes sense to them, designed for them. Kid's Connect is a highly interactive program that starts with music, motion, drama and Bible themes. Then the kids go to their "break out" sessions, which are age appropriate classes. Then, after Bible study, games and activities, they return for a final large group session to tie it all together.
Our kids LOVE this program!
This children's worship and Bible study experience is great for kids, and allows parents to worship without distraction
Time: This doubles as children's worship and Sunday School. It is 10:00 am until the adult worship service is completed. That way you can worship freely while your children are also worshipping in a way that is designed to be meaningful for them.
What is BLAST? BLAST stands for Building Lives According to Spiritual Truths. On Sunday evenings (4:30 - 6:00 pm) during the school year, we take fun and spiritual growth to the next level for kids.
The younger children meet together for games and Bible stories.
Older boys start out in the gym and play hard, then study the Bible.
The Older girls... they love to talk, so they prefer to spend their time in Bible study and learning activities with their leaders. Of course, the girls also take time for fun, such as a fashion show or fixing Christmas presents for needy children.
What is KICKS? Kool, Incredible, Crossroads Kids Summer. (Tuesdays, during the summer months)
The title pretty well sums up this program. BLAST takes a break during the summer and KICKS takes over. This is a fun time for the CrossRoads kids and their friends. Parents are encouraged to attend, but don't have to if they have other obligations. Activities have included bowling, movies, trips to the zoo, water parks, games and sports. Now that we have a gym at our disposal, KICKS won't ever have to cancel because of weather. Cool!
Cost? There is a small fee, depending on the activity and whether or not we are providing meals. Check the Compass newsletter or home page of this site for weekly details. |
